Y'know, now that this is in full 3D and all, I wonder what the game system requirements will be, upon release...

I'm pretty sure Lar said they're scaling it down so it will run on 'mid range' systems, but I'm not sure exactly what he thinks mid range is...
I'd guess Oblivion+ right now...

My guess, though, would've been Witcher+, since those requirements for new games (with a 128 MB GF 6600+) seem to be becoming very common....

You could be right there, D.
Release still a year away, give or take, so that probably will BE 'mid-range' for systems by then...

All I know is that I will have to adjust the brightness on my monitor waaay down...so as not to be blinded by the shinyness.

Filled in the question form for the beta test and sent it back to Larian. I really hope I can go.

Are they doing an open beta this time or are they doing things closed and in house?

Closed & in-house so far from what I've read on the forum, Nero. They're inviting people to go to them to play it. Whether there'll be more open beta-testing later is another thing, of course...

Dont get me wrong I would love to fly to Europe to play test it but I dont think my wife would find that an appropriate use of funds...hmmm, maybe if I pretend the Air Force needs me over there for a week or something...

Next episode of Hildor's Divinity 2 playtest: after sending them the filled in questionnaire (and the ones of my 2 friends), the Larians have answered: they have received the questionnaire and are waiting for more people to subscribe, so they can start forming player groups for the testing. Waiting (im)patiently

IGN preview from GC 2008That sounds like what NWN2: Mask had going on -- that you're cursed and embrace your new found power or not. In Mask's case, you can actually feed on souls, if you wish. In Divinity 2's case, you become cursed and can become a dragon. In Beyond Divinity, you were tethered to a Dark Knight (an evil knight), by magic. As long as y'all were bound by the magic -- you die, he dies. He dies, you do. Also, there was often quests that were usually either evil or good -- you can decide, while the Dark Knight is often egging you on to do the "Evil" side. So, again, seems like Divinity 2 will be another Divinity with some sort of interesting game mechanic built around it by being cursed -- this time, the dragon slayer can later get cursed so he or she can turn into a dragon. Sounds very cool. ********SPOILERS***************** Goblin Quest Spoiler for Divinity 2
Oooh. Sounds good. And with that for every action is a consequence thing, seems like it is aiming towards what Witcher tried to accomplish -- and succeeded with.
************END SPOILERS******************* **************SPOILERS******************* Letter Delivery Quest Spoilers for Divinity 2 Nice. Sounds like my kind of RPG.

Can't think of any reason to resist turning into a dragon, I'd have to say ;D

The game looks cool... though the colors really doesn't look as vibrant as DD. But at least there's some color...
