imho an average quality movie...even if my expectations weren't LOTR levels, i was expecting more, so it was a disapointement overral. my wife liked it more than i, lol. the story is rather one dimension without any kind of depth, the characters don't have much space to be developped, the "everyone who dies can come back" situation is rather plain, actors direction rather averish at best...all in all the more interesting still was some of the visual effects, always copying much of the LOTR environments/moments...

I loved the lion in this movie. Aslan was awesome. It was almost as if he was a real lion and not digitally done. I was very impressed with him. All of the children did a pretty good job, but I thought Lucy did the best. I was really disappointed in the White Witch though. She did not impress me at all. Shan

An average quality movie. The characters, the worlds, the conflict doesnt have any depth in them* The technical aspects of the film like directing, acting and sfx were second rate at best, the only stand out being Aslan, which was done quite right.
Not a bad movie, more like a regular holiday family movie, but nowhere near the quality I was expecting. Hopefully the next one will be better.
* I have not read C.S. Lewis' books, so this is purely speaking of the film version. For all I know, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe may be the best book ever written.

Aslan rocked. His character was very well done and he looked more real than digital. You didn't miss anything by not reading the books Hec. It was OK, but not the best ever written. I honestly don't think the movie did justice to the White Witch and the Fawn. I liked the beavers though. Shan

Tsel... The three books Tolkien wrote are The Hobbit, LoTR and The Silmarillion Even Silmarillion was not entirely completed to Tolkien's satisfaction, but on the Nth draft, IIRC. The rest of Tolkien's books were put together from his extremely extensive notes by Christopher Tolkien, who, I believe, is his son (Though I might be wrong. Might be grandson or something like that...) Yep true, Elliot, I have even heard that Peter Jackson is busy to produce his next Tolkien movie, The Hobbit. I hope it's with a bunch of the same actors as in LOTR. Gandalf, the fab-four hobbits, etc...
About Narnia, can't wait to see it too, but I have to wait for the dvd, can't go to the movies right now

Yep true, Elliot, I have even heard that Peter Jackson is busy to produce his next Tolkien movie, The Hobbit. Well, there is always hope, but that aint gonna happen anytime soon. Jackson doesn't have the rights for The Hobbit, which are currently own by Sony, having bought them from MGM a few years ago. New Line would have to clear the rights first if any kind of production is going to start. Jackson is now busy with his next movie, The Lovely Bones, which is more like Heavenly Creatures than LotR, so there won't be any more news about this in at least anothr year. Sir Ian McKellan is willing to take the role again, having enoyed playing Glandalf the Grey much more than Gandalf The White, so it's likely that if there is live-action The Hobbit, he will be there. I hope it's with a bunch of the same actors as in LOTR. Gandalf, the fab-four hobbits, etc... About Narnia, can't wait to see it too, but I have to wait for the dvd, can't go to the movies right now
