I watched The Deer Hunter recently, and i thought it was damn good, however the initial period in America before the war was a little too lengthly for my liking.

Crash. It's okay, not brilliant because there were a few scenes that intentionally pulled at your heartstrings. I did like how the major characters did a 180 on their views by the end but I don't think it's as good as everyone says.

Crash was excellent. I thought it definitely deserved best picture of the year in 2005.

EDIT: Nevermind answering the question, since I saw what you liked in the Academy thread.

American History X. Very good movie. Ed Norton at his best.

Ed Norton is one of the best actors around. he was great in American History X, Larry Flint, etc etc.

There is also Primal Fear with him. Which upset the cosmic balance as it is a Richard Gere movie that is actually good. My second favorite Norton performance.
My favorite? That timeless piece of cinema pop that is The Fight Club.

Little Fish was pretty good.
Wolf Creek's 1st half went on for about 20 minutes way too long, but once they met Mick Taylor, the movie picked up. Turned out good, but could've been great w/ better and tighter editing....

Crash was excellent. I thought it definitely deserved best picture of the year in 2005. I agree, finally a movie that didnt have Hollywood happyness written all over it. Just rewatched Shawshank redemption.... apparantly Empire's "Best movie ever"

Good movie.

Abbott & Costello in the Foreign Legion It’s been so long since I’ve seen this, seeing it again was like a breath of fresh air. Lots of great laughs. Tsel

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children (twice) Star Trek: Nemesis
You got my opinion on AC since I've watched it twice in two days, and ST:Nemesis was okay but it dragged a little in the middle to the point I almost fell asleep.
