Blackball is really funny. It also has a really absurd moment, where all of a sudden, you realize the movie tricked you into paying close attention to a game of lawn bowls. Every single person that's seen it at my place has made that realization. Kinda odd.

Just finished Brothers Grimm. Very disturbing, but glad I watched it. I'm sure I didn't catch half the references in there.

Garden State This is an excellent movie, very personal and moving I didn't really care too much for the last part, which is like the last 15 mins, after they got off the arc. Otherwise, good flick.

I read on imdb that they edited the film down to 80 minutes for the american release. I don't know how much longer the unedited version is or whats in it. I know I saw the edited version as it was really short.

I saw Two Weeks Notice, with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant, not bad, but not that good either, just one of the many romantic comedies of two people that can't stand eachother in the beginning and then fall in love dispite their differences

I must say the following: --Memory of a Killer is one of the best movies I've seen so far this year on DVD. --North Country was very good.

Saw the Die Hard trilogy last week. Pretty good, though the last one really trails off.

Three...Extremes was brutal, to say the least; 3 very good short horror movies there from Asia's horror masters.
Here my take on the 3 short flicks from Three...Extremes: 1.Dumplings (directed by Fruit Chan) is the most disgusting of the 3; and probably my favorite of the 3 stories. It's probably the most disgusting and disturbing movie I've ever seen, period..... 2.Cut was the most violent and torturous of the 3; directed by Chan-woo Park (the guy who directed Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and the upcoming flick Lady Vengeance). 3.Box was the weirdest & most out there of the 3; directed by Miike Takahashi (spelling?, who directed the hard-to-watch and very good horror movie Audition).
This collection is not for those with weak stomachs, to say the least....hehe.

Underworld Evolutions in cinema. not bad but not great either. i like the beginning which was a flashback into the past with vamps in cool-looking armour & such fighting against the brutish might of werewolves.
the other parts have very nice effects but to the point where the actions begins exactly as the story stops progressing.

I saw King Kong, which was pretty good -- especially for a remake.
Stay was quite good.
Memoirs of A Geisha needed some editing The movie was too dull and long winded in the first half, having some moments here and there. But, the 2nd half was good. Overall, b/c of its bad pacing, it was just plain "okay"....

The Weatherman.
Rented it on a whim, and wow. Really fresh. Those who liked...Spanglish (mmm, Paz Vega...yum!), About Schmidt, Family Man...this is one you'll enjoy.
