I'm still sick as ever and I think I'm probably dying this time. Rather annoying as I was starting to actually enjoy life and be happy again.
Oh but just to make sure I don't stay optimistic it looks like I've pushed away the only person that made me happy. I'm awesome.
In other news: Lews has entered the stock market game! Started on Tuesday, already made 35% on my original investment.

Wow, Lews, that's a post to worry about. I hope things get better soon, cause I don't like reading such things. Please keep your head up, not down. I had, I just didn't have a second car with me

I had, I just didn't have a second car with me In a city like Antwerp? No one around? or were you at some dark corner or something? Lightened with red lights or so? ;D

Someone around: yes Someone I knew who had a car: no Someone walking by with a car: no Me wanting to let someone stop to help me on that bussy street where people would drive over the car in front of them just to be home earlier: no
So if you make the sum of those things, you decide to wait for your dad ;D Ofcourse, if my dad wouldn't be in Antwerp that moment, I would've found a solution on my own. Waiting for the house owner to come home for example. Or eventually making a car stop ;D

Hildor; good that you had the choice of means to get you out of the situation.
Flix, congrats on the exam and nice new shiny; not a bad idea to indulge yourself after that. ;D
Lews, hopefully health and relationships will improve with time and care. It seems to be a good time to enter in the stock market for those who have the funds while things are dropping, and it's a way to balance the mass-panick behaviors that make the drops snowball at the same time.

The factory where I work now has it's main office in Foxworth Texas. Interesting to know, since a few from here are from down there right? At least from Texas ;D Just found that out by looking on the back of the blisters we have to check, but normally we don't have time to look at the adress

I just got a phonecall from the interim agency, I'm fired ( with two others) at our job at Alcon. Appearently because we made too many mistakes, normally when you make big mistakes you have to meet the supervisor. None of us ever had to talk to her, so everything was just fine. But suddenly, they call me to let me and the two other girls know we don't have to come back. I do not agree with the reason and planning to reach the big boss, he's a personal friend of one of my friends :bleep:

i bet they're trying to sweep things under the carpet. do find out why. even if they're don't re-instate u, at the very least u get to know the reason. if the reason is not good enough for u, it means Alcon doesn't deserve someone as good as u. & u don't want to work for such a fickle company. wish things are better for u though, Gal.

Gal...
Sounds more like 'recession = layoff' to me. If they don't give you any actual reasons for sacking you, something about the whole thing stinks. Companies have procedures they follow - including written warnings, etc - before they fire anyone for incompetence (Which is what 'too many mistakes' would come under).
It might be worth your while looking at Belgian employment law. Your sacking might not even be legal under these circumstances...

Maybe the company is in financial trougbles now (m,any companies seem to be nowadays), and they fires those with the least experience ?

@ Elliot As for the legal part, being an interim means you can get sacked from one week to the other. But still, I have never been fired for not doing my job good enough, and Alcon wont be the first one to start doing so. I know I'm good at my job, and I know my other collegue was also good at it. We tend to find out why we got sacked while other people with interim contract who made over 19 mistakes in one month can stay.
@ Jang Sweeping things under the carpet you say? Well, one of my first thoughts was that if Alcon fires me with a bad report, I wont be able to find another job in the pharmaceutical business. But they forget i still got my very good review from my former supervisor at Pfizer. And I'm counting on getting my job back there or at least in another department fo Pfizer.

Gal - that's the thing. By law they might be able to fire you at a moment's notice due to your being an interim, but I'm pretty sure they cannot legally fabricate an excuse to do so - especially if that hurts your chances of future employment by blackening your reputation.
So - it still might be worth your while looking into the exact legality of the situation...

Sorry to read about that; I hope you can get clear reasons for it and that getting another job will work out well and quickly...

whatever it is, Gal, u deserve 2 know the truth, so if it's just a lame excuse, u need to break some of their fingers. ;D
all in all, we believe in u & we feel that u should be treated with more respect.

Sorry to hear that. I second Elliot's opinion. If it's "blackening your reputation" and you get in trouble finding a new job in the pharmaceutical business it can be helpfull to take a loot at the legality of the situation. Were you able to reach the big boss yet?
