There is still land on earth, lots of it, and that would explain why man has yet to go to the ocean depths to live. However, mammals have evolved to go into the ocean, and are immensely intelligent. Ummm, are "man" not mammals. And are you saying that Dolphins and Whales "left" land to become aquatic dwellers ? If so, I disagree. While both Dolphins and Whales do in fact have 5 digits in their fins (Like a hand), I believe they have yet too reach (or more precisely, will Never reach), the evolutionary status that man has. Also, we can only base intelligence by our perception of it. For all we know, that dang Sea Cucumber has been talking to aliens for the last 50,000 years. hahaha, ok going off the deep end now. (Damn it .. I said was going to abstain from commenting in this thread, and yet ... here I am )

I dunno if our dear friend Drathal has any clue of what a joke is, OR any clue how to respect that he doesnt KNOW he's right. So he should simply NOT act like everyone else's view is [please choose an obsenity]

So he should simply NOT act like everyone else's view is [please choose an obsenity] I'm just telling you what I know. If you find my views scary, well, I don't think thats my problem. Its seems you feel threatened by other points of view and facts... I'm not even a biologist or zoologist (though I wouldn't mind being one, as I do try to study both fields on my spare time), but I can tell you what I know when you bring up these points and questions or "points"

Which ends Buffy & TD exchanging insults, however veiled, thank you very much.
Attack the arguments, not the person, people, if you please.

I suppose this has come to a stalemate.
I'm not one to argue about Religion vs. Science, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. It's when the oxymoronic Creation Science is brought up with its hoaxes, long-since disproven 'facts' etc, that I feel the need to argue.
Evolution should be taught in Biology class, Creationism in Cathecism class. I guess that's what my beliefs boil down to.

I think Hector is right. It is a stalemate. We all have our own beliefs about this and whether I agree with him or not I can respect his thoughts and beliefs. I would also hope that he would be willing to have the same respect for my thoughts and beliefs and all of those who are not in agreement with him. There are so many sides to this and there are no conclusive answers and I for one do not believe that we will ever have those answers, not positive ones anyway. Alright Terrordar tell me that I am wrong. ;D Shan

Shan... I think that everyone's beliefs and thoughts on this topic are all interesting, and all worthy of respect Everyone has made their case very well, IMO, and in a very civilised way too

Terrordar -> Why did I know you were going to say that? ;D Thanks Hector. Shan Honestly, I mean no offense, but for life on earth, not the universe, but for life on earth, I think we'll know what started it within the next 1000 years, if we continue to advance in technology

I know you don't. I was just playing around when I said that because we always seem to be on opposite sides. And who knows you could be right even though I don't think you are. ;D Shan

Why does anyone have to be wrong?
Couldn't God create humanity through evolution?

Why does anyone have to be wrong? Couldn't God create humanity through evolution? Of course he could, Hec. It would probably be the easiest (And arguably the best) method, in fact. IIRC, nothing in any religion explicitly denies the possibility.
