Can heal any number of people, but only once per person. And yes, s/he can heal him/herself.

Okay, I think I got it. If multuple people have the heal skill, can each of them heal the same person?

The healer, eh? Fine with me, though a character who only repairs broken pots doesn't appeal me much, so I'm searching for other traits to develop. There is a teaching skill; would there be a learning skill that allows one to be a quicker/easier learner? Or would the intellect stat give some advantage for the skills that don't go along with physical improvement?

Okay, just making sure I get it... man, you're making it hard to heal. Any particular reason?

No learning skill, Fille, sorry. Learning time will depend on what is reasonable for the skill - which is pretty vague, I know, but skills differ wildly. *** Silva - if you do it right, combat should not leave most of you 3/4 dead after each fight. Plus, you will have healing spells tht each of your casters can use for as long as their Mana holds out. Non-magical healing should be a help - something that gives you an extra edge - not something that allows miracle cures

About healing; besides an alchemy skill that would allow to prepare healing decoctions and a healing spell that heals 5 hp per level, isn't a healing skill that heals 1 pt per level per person (and which would require specific material such as bandages in addition) a bit unuseful... ?

Depends how you look at it, Fille. You need ingredients to create any kind of healing or other potions. Alchemy also requires a fair amount of equipment to process the ingredients. So while it's a good method, it takes a lot of prep work. Magical healing takes Mana. As do all other spells. If your mages use all their power healing, they will be useless for anything else. The non-magical Healing Skill can be used after every fight, on every injured person, and all you need are a few strips of cloth. At lvl 5, it's the same effect as a lvl 1 healing spell, but with no mana loss So - worth it or not?

If you guys balance the skills out well, you can turn out a pretty formidable group. So far, so good, I think In a lot of systems, non-combat skills that don't involve magic are kind of tacked on, and won't help much in the course of the game. That's not the case, here... Providing all goes the way it's intended to, of course

Jang - Spot Hidden would oppose Stealth, yes. Haggle is a good idea - should get you reduced prices on goods. There is no alternate meeting place for characters at this stage. It'll be a LOOONG wait until there is. More than that I cannot say... oh yes, that's the one! thanks, EK. & Haggle, yes, i will definitely pick that one up since my character is someone from the streets. as for meeting place part, well 'waking up buck naked in a strange place' is it then. ;D @ the rest of the players -> i've yet to set up my skills but i am definitely picking up Spot Hidden & Haggle along with existing ones already in my character sheet. do let me know what u may need for the party's good so i can edit my character to suit it.

Jang - pick the skills and levels for what you want. If you want your character to be really good at haggling, go with a 5. If you just want moderate, go with a 3. It's all up to you and what you want your character to be.
If you are worried about group balance, look at what skills haven't been chosen and see if you like those for your character.

@ Sarah -> ok, so i have Haggle, Stealth, Spot Hidden, Use Dagger. i want to include Survival but i am not sure what it does. as for Tumble, it's really reaction, right? i bet Tinkering (or mechanical skill) is a lazy-type skill. still i am curious; in Awakening, can one tinker with thing by utilising items from various party members?

ahhh... . thanks, Sarah. do u think there is a need for Gamble skill? or is that a lazy skill?

I don't think a gamble skill in the sense of knowing how to gamble, but maybe knowing how to scam people, like card-sharks... but not sure how they'd play into this particular game.

I'll certainly give you Card Sharp if you want, Jang Gamble would be fine, too. It would give you a better chance of coming out of the end of long card playing sessions with more money than you started with. Nothing helps with dice or roulette type games.
