OK, we can wait and see if anyone else is interested in our past comments. Now for Chiyo. Spoiler:Even through all of the fighting, she showed courage, caring, a want to protect, and the true qualities of a great person. I was very impressed with her through the whole story. Now I just want to know what her one more thing to do is. Shan LoL. Patience, Shan. Patience. ;D

The idea you and Sariachan have about the Leader sounds good to me. Spoiler:I had never really thought about the clouds on the Akatsuki's uniforms before but if the Leader is from the Cloud country then that could very well be the reason for them.
Why do you think he is a Kage?Shan It's just a guess. He obviously seems to exert a lot of influence on everybody, and I kind of like the idea of a Kage being involved in the Akatsuki somehow.I'm sure Sariachan will give her reasons later. She's busy cleaning 275 right now.

Shan's comments to Phil's 10 comments on chapter 276. 10 Comments for Chapter 276
1. Cover - is it just me, or is Kishimoto starting to seem tired with his artistic style? He seems to be trying to break out of his usual style, or maybe it's just that he's still trying to get comfortable with drawing Naruto as a 14-year old? I bet it's the latter... though he certainly seems to be comfortable drawing Sakura.
I don't think it is just you, Phil. I think there has been a definitely change in the covers. It does seem like he is fighting with his drawing of Naruto as a teen. I've noticed it in the comic also. It is like he doesn't quite know what to do with him now. Sakura, no problem, but I can see him easily drawing her as a teen. He's a guy. ;D
2. Kakashi's Sharingan eye - it certainly is different-looking from Itachi's, yet it's also called a Mangekyou? There's something more to this than... uh, meets the eye... sorry, that was lame.
*more to this than meets the eye, huh? ;D * OK, this was a total shock to me. I never expected Kakashi to have this kind of power with Sharngan. Since it is also called a Mangekyou, I wonder just how much it is like Itachi's Mangekyou. Kakashi sure used it different than Itachi, but can Itachi used his this way too if he wants to. Lots of holes here to wonder about. Where did Kakashi get this anyway? Did he just develope it on his own?
3. Not sure what the point of Naruto's comments towards Kakashi were - I guess he was actually underestimating Kakashi a little.
I think Naruto had been wondering all along what Kakashi's new stuff was and when he saw his eye he knew the new Sharingan was what Kakashi had been talking about and just commented about it as sort of to confirm it for himself. And I love it when Naruto tells Kakashi not to worry that if he mess it up he'll take care of it.
4. You know, when I initially read the script, I thought that the whole deal with the Sharingan eye distorting reality was pretty cool, but was nervous about how Kishimoto would pull it off art-wise. Actually it turned out pretty neat. Kishimoto seems to have a real knack for "special effect" art.
Agree. He did a very good job.
5. Deidara's arm exploded as a result. Armless Deidara. You know, I never really understood how Deidara was able to withstand the pain of losing his FIRST arm to Gaara. He may have screamed a bit here, but close to the end of the chapter he seemed to just shrug it off (well what else could he do, I suppose). Still, he seems a heckuva lot like a cyborg.
I don't know, but Deidara just seems to be to cool here. He seems to accept what happened to his arm to calmly for me. "Now I can't even use any jutsu... I guess I'm done for..." I think there is something here that Kishimoto has not shown us yet. I just can't see Deidara going down that easy.
6. I think Kishimoto was worn out a bit drawing dramatic scenes after the Sasori-Sakura fight. Naruto's "Rasengan" attack on Deidara just didn't have the "oompah" of previous similar scenes. Still, I suppose Naruto was only doing it as a diversion, to scare Deidara off, and to get Gaara out of the bird.
I don't know what is wrong here, but Kishimoto does seem to be just so-so with his drawing here. It is almost like he is tired, has something else on his mind or something and just wants to get it done. I'm not sure Naruto was going for diversion. Naruto just doesn't seem like a diversion guy to me.
7. But how exactly DID Naruto know where to strike the bird without injuring Gaara? A bit of a plot hole there.
Yeah, a big plot hole if you ask me. He makes a good guess?
8. Page 16, where the two Narutos are looking down at Gaara, that's the best panel in the chapter. Pretty nicely drawn.
Not bad.
9. Can't say I blame Naruto for being angry and wanting to deal with Deidara right away. I guess he hid another clone close to where Deidara was sitting.
Naruto, wait? No way. He wanted to make Deidara pay for what he had done to Gaara, so yeah he'd hit him again.
10. The last double spread was pretty cool. But I don't know if this is truly the end of the fight. Something's just really fishy about the way Deidara was able to handle the pain of losing not only one, but now two arms. I really wonder what Kishimoto has in store for us next chapter.
I will be shocked if this is actually the end of the fight. I just don't see Deidara going down this easily. I see Kishimoto teasing us just a little, but actually saying do you really think I would end it like this.
Overall, not a bad chapter, but not a great one, either.
It was OK, but I wasn't really impressed. It was more of a filler chapter to me and really didn't contribute that much to the story.Well, that's it. Shan

Shan's comments to Phil's 10 comments on chapter 276.
He's a guy. ;DActually, we guy artists tend to have more trouble drawing the female figure than males. And vice versa for female artists. So that was interesting Kishimoto seemed to be more comfortable drawing her lately. Well, now we know why... Itachi was so shocked when Kakashi revealed that he knew that there was a side-effect to the MS, by saying "is your eyesight worsening?" He knew that Kakashi had the MS somehow. And he was surprised, he had said in the past that only Uchiha clan members could achieve that legendary Sharigan, but yet here is Kakashi with a similar eye technique. Of course Kakashi is a genius, maybe he figured it out on his own somehow. I also wonder how much this has to do with Obito's death. After all, wasn't Obito kind of the friend that Kakashi always missed? Curious, curious... That was cool, yeah. And in a way Kakashi did kind of botch it up by missing Deidara head on. So Naruto was able to make his words come true and take care of the rest.Neither can I. [/color] True. He's more of a guy who likes to just get straight to the battle. Still... when he has somebody to help him plan things, like when Shikamaru told him to trick Tayuya in letting him over her to get past to try to reach Kimimaro, remember? He does seem to be good at doing his part. Also, he did good with the Naruto clones against Kidoumaru, the spider guy, even if it didn't work out but it did give Neji time to free himself. So who knows. Somebody at Naruto Forums pointed out that... Naruto had previously seen Deidara's bird gobble up Gaara, so he must have seen that nothing went through its neck because it didn't enlargen. Also, he figured striking the neck wouldn't do any damage because that was the least likely place Gaara would be. Seems like good reasoning to me, I guess. Interestingly enough, a lot of fans at the Naruto Forums really loved this chapter. I wonder how much it is due to just finally getting past the last fight. *Shrugs*

Yeah, I think it must be pretty painful. It seems to have hurt Kakashi to use it more than it did Itachi, but maybe that is because it is something new for him. I wonder if it really affects their eyesight or just hurts when they use it. Really something new and interesting for Kakashi though.
Remember a few chapters back we were wondering if Kakashi would be able to learn the Mangekyou. I guess now we know.Shan

You know what Shan? I think I'm going to take back what I said about a couple of things for 276.
Spoiler > 1. Looking at it again, I think Kishimoto actually did a good job on Naruto on the cover. For once, I mean, Naruto DOES look like a teenager. Yeah, I still think Kishimoto is trying to get better at drawing a 14-year old Naruto, but he may be getting there.
And 2. - The art wasn't all that bad for the rest of the chapter either. I think maybe it just seemed underwhelming because there were a lot of close-ups and the like, as well as the majority of the chapter being taken up by the Sharingan effects on Deidara. But now I do think it was a good job overall.
I still think it wasn't that great a chapter, but I do look forward to what's going to happen this week.

Well, I'm not taking mine back. Spoiler: I really wasn't that impressed with the cover or the at in this chapter. I think he has done alot better. To me this one just doesn't seem to meet the standard that we have seen in other chapters from him.
Yeah, Naruto did look like a teenager or at least an older guy, but he just seems blah (no life to him). Maybe it just me and not being use to seeing him as a teen. Nope, I stick with my first response. Shan

Spoiler: Could be, but my guess would be that it is because of Kakashi's new Sharingan and getting to see him use it. Maybe even the fact of seeing him use it to blow Deidara's arm off. ;D
I still haven't been able to figure out why, but this chapter still feels strange to me. I keep wondering if part of it is because Kishimoto dropped this story and is now coming back to it. Alot of times that really messes me up.
And we aren't past the last fight yet. We still don't know for sure if Sasori is really gone, what happens to Chiyo, and what the last thing she had to do was. ;D Shan

You're curious. Hey, what about me? Cliffhangers drive me bonkers. ;D Spoiler: I think at the time Obito died, he and Kakashi were just beginning to realize what kind of friendship they really had. I also think Kakashi only came to realzie just what Obito taught him after Obito died and he wishes they had had the chance to explore their friendship.
Maybe since the eye came from Obito and he was of the Uchiha clan was the reason Kakashi could achieve it. He had the Uchiha clan eye which enabled him to achieve it. (the eye held the power and Kakashi just had to learn to access it.)
I think Itachi will be shocked to find out what Kakashi can now do. Also this means that there is now the possibility that Kakashi can teach Sasuke to use it and help him defeat Itachi. Shan

Sounds weak to me and as if they were just looking for a solution. I mean at a time like that who is going to be watching the neck of Deidara's bird to see if it enlarged or not. I sure don't think Naruto would be.
Now for the neck being the least likely place for Gaara to be, I can agree with that. I just don't see the bird holding Gaara in its neck, so yeah, I'll go along with that part.Shan

Shan > Yeah, it's an weak argument, you're right... but eh sometimes it's like a good movie, for certain surprising parts you just have to suspend your beliefs to enjoy it I guess. =)
As for Kakashi having the MS, I was thinking earlier this weekend about how peeved off Sasuke will be when he finds out he could have learned it from Kakashi, instead of going to Orochimaru...!!!
As for the art, yeah I like it better now but I do agree with you about one thing, Kishimoto's covers used to be a lot better. Right now, he seems content just to do character profiles for covers in Part 2. Maybe he's just tired of working a lot on covers. As for cliffhangers, you'd better get used to it... if you couldn't already tell... Kishimoto loves em. LoL.

Glad to hear you're almost with us Jags ;D
Um, it varies actually. It could actually come out the day the RAW (original japanese chapter) comes out on-line, or it could take up to three weeks, unfortunately. Especially lately, because most if not all of the cleaning team on the Shannaro and Inane cleaning teams are going back to school. Plus, our friend who is also a member of Shannaro, Sariachan, is having problems with her PC and has admitted it's slowed down the HQ release of 275 somewhat. (That's ok though, Sariachan, take your time. We'll be here when it comes out.)

Chapter 277 CommentsIt just came out today. It was pretty intense. Below is my 10 Comments on it, originally posted at Naruto Forums. It took me a while to actually save the chapter for myself so that I could re-read it and absorb it in one sitting. (All the downloads didn't work. I hate rar... )
Anyway, here's my comments. Now that I've calmed down somewhat
1. Nice Kakashi cover, more good stuff for the colorists to work on. (But I WAS hoping for a Zetsu cover, ah well.) Hurry, colorists, so I can use it as an alternative avatar.
2. Naruto's definitely going Kyuubified-berserk in the early goings of this chapter. I guess being convinced that Gaara's dead just blew his mind. Boy, you can really feel the fury. It's drawn well for the most part, but there WAS one panel in particular that confused me momentarily, where Naruto's clones seemed to just throw Deidara to the ground (page 3) and I had thought all the Narutos had gone down with him, but there was still one in the air about to strike.
3. Somebody wondered how Deidara could have used the art of substitution to exchange himself for a body of clay. I don't really know myself, but I suspect it must have happened while Naruto was examining Gaara's body. Though Naruto's other clones should have noticed Deidara doing something, so, hmm. Maybe Deidara actually did it while he fell from the bird.
4. And then Naruto truly becomes Kyuubified, and man, does he start to look evil. This is the reminder we all needed - that there is a demon inside Naruto, and he's no saint. I had thought that maybe over these last 2 and a half years, the Kyuubi and Naruto might have merged, but looks like it's not happening. The Kyuubi definitely still has a consciousness inside Naruto, and I think it's starting to affect Naruto in much the same way the Ichibi/Shukaku did Gaara two years and a half ago. Yes, the seal is weakening even more. How long before the seal totally breaks and Naruto is consumed?
5. Well, I guess that's what Jiraiya's warning to Naruto was all about. I wonder if Jiraiya was just warning him not to draw on the powers of the Kyuubi, because over the years Jiraiya realized it was becoming too much for Naruto to control. Good thing Kakashi was alert enough to stop it from getting too far.
6. How did Chiyo and Sakura get there so fast? o__o Well, I guess Deidara, Kakashi, and Naruto actually didn't go too far. A bit of a plot hole, but that's okay. I can suspend my beliefs. It looks as though Chiyo's "one last thing to do" is indeed to resurrect Gaara, maybe?
7. And so Gai team also gets their fight over with. I kind of wish we had gotten a more detailed account of how they did it, but I suppose it'll make good filler episodes for the anime. In any case, it was neat to have them arrive like the "cavalry" here, so to speak.
8. Somebody said that Deidara sure is athletic for a guy without two arms to get away from Ten-Ten's missile weapons, and Gai, Lee, and Neji's flurry of attacks. I have to say they're pretty right. It all leads me to think this must be another bunshin of some sort...
9. So did Deidara really explode himself up? Some think he did, some think he didn't. I'm undecided, but I lean towards the "not." It must be another clay bunshin, it's kind of like how Kabuto fooled Kakashi in the hospital. Still, if Deidara really did explode himself up, I'm sure it's how he'd have liked to go out anyway, with a bang. (Speaking of which, Herminator mentioned this must be a nod to Toriyama's DragonballZ story where the villain Cell also blows himself up, since Kishimoto is a well-known fan. I have to admit there is a definite resemblance, but don't forget, Cell also resurrected himself, too. There must be more to this than we think.)
10. Well, I just have to say here, this was one mind-blowing chapter. It became fast-paced all of a sudden, and there's so much to talk about as a result of it. Best chapter in a while we've had, especially action-wise.

NarutoForums. forums.narutofan.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83That's the forum you can find the latest releases translated, scanlated, etc. If you're looking for RAWS (original japanese version) you can check the "Latest Releases" thread out - forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=18265For all convenient links for chapter 277 in particular - forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=59607There you can find the RAWs, translations, scanlations, etc for 277. I downloaded Stiluz's scanlation, so that's the version I have of 277. A high quality version of 276 unfortunately hasn't been out yet. Or even a decent 276 low quality version. Just stick to the text translation for that for now, I guess.
