I [Censored]ing HATE the anarchist and their idiotic mindless helpers.
Today the youth house, Ungdomshuset, was evacuated. Ungdomshuset is a housing place for youths who are very left oriented. They're mostly anarchists and young rebellious people and there's a clear written contract which they have mishandled for years. There's been drug deals, underage drinking, vandalism and worse in and around the house so the Copenhagen municipality finally had enough and sold the house - much to the dismay of the users of the house.
So, there's been fights earlier in the year and today the police evacuated the building and all hell broke loose. It's been going on all day and right now there's huge fires in the streets, youths throwing bricks, paving stones, bottles and everything else except molotov cocktails (which will come). They've built barricades out of containers, cars and fires and are putting out the street lights to operate in the darkness. The targets are both police and press and probably also regular people unfortunate enough to be at shooting range.
The youths are well organised and operating on several levels of the neighbood and most of the Nørrebro district in Copenhagen. The police are under pressure and are taking out gas masks because they were getting sorrounded.
At 10 pm they'll youths (estimates 1000 and more coming from both Denmark and all of Europe as well) will march to Rådhuspladsen - the main square in Copenhagen and start even more trouble.
I apologise for the use of bad language but those people should go [Censored] themselves instead of doing this [Censored]

The youths have been warning all of copenhagen that voilence will erupt once the house was evacuated and they were right. They've been lobbying all over Europe and there's been many incidents where likeminded has vandalised Danish embassies all over Europe. And now there's a rumor the drug dealers in Christiania has joined in the trouble as wel...
The police have to call in reinforcement and they've had to use gas to keep them youths away. There's been 150 arrests and there's probably more than 1000 left anyway - so this will keep going on. Not just tonight but probably all weekend as well. Out of 35 people arrested in the house itself 18 were foreigners and there's probably a lot more than that in Copenhagen now.
Idiots!

Hope things settle down soon again in Denmark, those fights remind me of a civil war

I hope so too...
Not a civil war, though, way too limited. But I'm sure they youths would like to make it like that.
An update - the youths were very much armored. when the police evacuated the house they confiscated chrysanthemum bombs, molotov cocktails, several different weapons and more fun things that were supposed to be used in the fight. Damn glad the police managed to get it confiscated or that would've ended really really bad.
Chrysantemum bombs, petrol bombs, molotov cocktails, weapons.....that's things that can kill..
Btw. I don't know the English word for Chrysantemum bomb - but it's a powerful explosive that's unfortunatly killed people in Denmark of late.

Oh my god, this is turning into a civil war! Isn't there a solution for those youths? They cannot continue spreading terror around in Copenhagen!

Solutions have been tried and tried but nothing came out of it. The youths have been offered several houses but wanted no part of it unless they were given everything for free - gas, electricity and the house (well, they would have paid 1 danish krone - which is like 25 cents)...
And they're doing this because they were kicked out of their house. And blames everyone else but themselves - even though they mishandled their contract.

When stuff gets this out of hand, the best solutions involve water cannons and tear gas. And a good thumping with trunchons if anything sticks around.
Hopefully your police will get around to it sooner rather than later, Peter.

tear gas and watercannons have been used, elliot. Stopped it for a bit...and then it began again.
So riots still going on. All this because of a freakin' house.

Not very effectively, then...
Do you think you need more police out there?

Seeing how the youths keep getting reinforced, yes.
And police have called in reinforcements as well since they were close to being sorrounded before.
But, unfortunatly, our laws prohibit the police from using a lot of power... watercannons, tear gas an trunctons are pretty much it..

Can the army be called in for help? Sometimes the army is used for things like that.

Im not even sure what to say about this...its mind boggling...are there any english news reports on this?
My first response is teargas everyone and drop them off in amsterdam...should fit in fine.
But look at it this way, generally speaking, groups like this arent in it for the long haul...they cant maintain, hopefully itll die down soon.
Oh and Kylia, Im pretty sure that a woman with an idea is a witch! So what...we'll just see if you weigh the same as a duck (monty python anyone?)

You need to watch Monty Python's Holy Grail. There is a part where they (through some strange rationale) sentence a woman to being a witch because she weighs the same as a duck...very funny and yes deary it is a compliment.
