... there ... him ... follow ...
that was the last time Homm heard the whisper before he ended up here with almost nothing on him. he was looking at Rasidar & what he has done so far - making friends with one who has a bearing of a knight & a lady who must be a crafts master.
i have to follow this one, Homm thinks to himself while looking at Rasidar still. he could follow Rasidar's conversations by lip reading although this large cavernous room provide very little light.
he woke up much earlier than those three. it was cold & the floor was even colder. there was little else in the room save others who are in similar condition as he is, which is why he choose to stay in bed till he spot Rasidar, whom he followed earlier, as beckoned by the whisper.
whatever happened that got us end up here, asks Homm to himself, isn't a good thing. the amber lights seem unnatural & he tried to study them. yet he found no answer. yet.
maybe i should move closer to them. maybe follow his example, as Homm continues to talk to himself in whispers while looking at Rasidar.
he moves slowly, trying to look as non-chalant as possible, as he approaches them.
as he gets closer to them, he studies Stelrein, wondering how his order's insignia looks like. maybe he knows grey eyes, thinks Homm to himself.
he saw from a safe distance how Stelrein taught Rasidar crafts-making. reading lips from a closer distance is much easier & he learns as Rasidar learns. ... Stelrein the crafts-master ..., whispers Homm to himself.
ouch! Homm accidentally hit one of the beds while reading Loriana's lips. he saw there is a big splinter on the side of the wooden bed. he proceeds to try to break it off, hoping that it can make a beggar's dagger.

HommNothing available that would make even a makeshift dagger, sorry. Even the best splinters would be too weak, and likely shatter at a single use. You might want to make a couple changes in there: Stelrein is the crafter, not Loriana

Cedric's mind awakened at the itching of straw on naked skin. He had no memory of lying on straw. Actually he hated straw since... - strangely he seemed to have forgotten when and why.
Flickering lights came into his consciousness through the closed eyelids. He always unconsciously checked light intensity before opening them. These were not hurting.
He listened. He was not alone! He had no memory of any company.
"Something is not as it should be..." He analysed the situation in his mind, feeling his body, feeling his immediate surrounding while carefully not moving and controlling his breath. He was lying on a straw mattress, covered with a thin woolen blanket, wearing nothing but knee-length linen under-trousers. He was not tied up.
He searched his memory for clues. "I am Cedric, the Pale, the...Mage - I can do magic, like..." His memory failed him, everything seemed fogged. He knew he should be able to remember - words, gestures - but he didn't. "EVERYThING is not as it should be!"
He opened his eyes and sat up.
He looked around. The dim light was comfortable, though the flickering slightly irritating. He was in a sort of dormitory - a dormitory he somehow knew he had never been at. A vast hall with beds next to each other, some occupied by motionless figures under a dimly glowing aura of light, some empty.
Several persons were standing in what seemed to be the center of the hall. All lightly dressed, to say the least. He looked around the bed - nothing there that could be claimed as his possession. No, that was exaggerated - there was nothing there - period.
He stood up, wrapped the blanket around his shoulders, and walked over to the others.
"Good...," he began, but interrupted himself looking around again. No indication as to what time of the day it was. "Ahem - Be greeted! Is it just me, or do you also have no clue as to where we are here - and why?"

Rasidar was momentarily roused from his studies with Stelrein. He looked up to the albino and nodded in greeting. He must have just awakened, Rasidar reasoned.
"Well met," Rasidar said. "I am Rasidar, Knight of the Orb. We know as little as you, it would seem. We've only just recently awoken ourselves. The three of us have banded together in a mutual quest for answers. We could use an extra hand, if you be willing. Might I know your name, sir?"
Rasidar calmly waited for the pale man's reply. A new ally would be gladly welcome in this ghastly prison...

"My name is Cedric," he said, acknowledging the knight's greeting. "And willing I am, that's for sure. I certainly want to find out who plays such fiendish game with me - us!"

"Welcome, Cedric," Rasidar said, stopping to introduce the others. "Loriana is searching for an exit. Meanwhile, good Stelrein has taught me much of weaponcraft. If you have any suggestions, they would be much appreciated."
Rasidar politely waited for Cedric to reply, as he saw fit. It then struck him to look on the granite floor. If there were any loose stones lying on the ground, they might prove useful...

Ash slowly opens her eyes and then closes them again. Flickering lights.....she had no memory of flickering lights. What was going on? Was this a dream or was she really seeing flickering lights?
Staying very still so not to be noticed, she slowly opens her eyes again and looks around cautiously. A large room, beds, people, smells, it all seemed so very strange.
This had to be a dream, but it didn't feel like a dream. It was all very confusing.
As she becomes more awake and her head becomes somewhat clearer, she realizes this is definitely not a dream that something has happened to her but she has no idea what.
Looking around the room to make sure no one is watching her, she slowly sits up to where she can get a better view of her surroundings. There were two men not to far away bent over something which looked like it might have once been one of the beds. What were they doing? Had they taken the bed apart? She had no idea. She watches as another guy joins them and while still another seem to be creeping toward them. It looked as if he wanted to know what was going on but didn't want them to know he was watching them.
Looking on around the room, she notices a girl walking slowly next to one of the walls feeling it carefully as she went.
From what she could tell at the moment there was no other activity in the room.
She then looks around the room. She was right...... it is a large room, a huge room and it is filled with beds. Some had people in them who seemed to be asleep or were those glowy things over them just making it seem that way. She couldn't tell. Other beds were empty, while others looked like they had once had people sleeping in them.
The room had these crazy flickering lights, reminded her just a little of leaves blowing in the wind and sunlight passing through them.
A memory.... forest..... but what about the forest. She shakes her head trying to clear it, but the memory is gone. There is no more.
Sensing no immediate danger in the room, Ash stands. She notices the stone floor felt cool to her bare feet, but the room was warm and comfortable.
Her hand reaches for something. She had no idea what but she had definitely started to pick something up. She shakes her head hoping to clear it, hoping for more but no luck.
She then starts quietly making her way over to the group of men. What were they doing? Could they tell her where she was and why she was there? Upon reaching them, her curosity takes over, and with all manners that her parents had tried so hard to teach her forgotten, she asks "What are you doing?"

Rasidar bows courteously as he sees the lady approach. His instincts as a knight took hold as he regarded her with a gentle smile.
"Greetings, good lady," he said. "`Twould seem that we have been trapped here, for reasons we know not. The rest of us have banded in a common purpose. We seek to know why we are here. We hope to escape this place, and if necessary, oppose whatever force may have sent us here. Forgive the mess, but we hoped to use the contents of this room to aid in our escape. We would gladly have you join us, if you so wish."
Rasidar introduced himself, before finally introducing the lady to the members of the group. He would not show even a hint of disrespect to her. It would be only chivalrous...

(So much for Loriana running into anyone waking... Anyway, Elliot, I suppose I'm going in a direction where everyone's still asleep. Have I found any windows or doors?)

Rasidar
There seem to be no loose stones nearby.
Loriana
There are no windows, but the door is in a clear space on the East wall. A full circuit reveals that it is the only door.
Everyone
By this time there are enough of you that you will notice everyone present seems to be of a similar physical age - late teens to early twenties...

As Loriana walked around, seeing that there were no windows and only one door, she thought about herself and her past. She had this vague feeling that something was missing... something in her mind. She thought of Rasidar and Stelrein, how they must be swordsman and finding a sword would complete them. She wondered if she knew how to use a sword...
She shook her head. That wasn't it. She wasn't very strong, she knew that. But something... in her mind...
Even though it took her some time to walk around the room, she hadn't figured out what was bothering her by the time she rejoined the group. She saw that some new people had woken up and joined Rasidar and Stelrein.
She smiled and shyly said hi to the two new men and woman. She was glad to see another woman. She had worried that she'd be the only one.

Seeing Loriana approach, Rasidar introduces her to Cedric. He would have been glad to introduce the lady who'd just approached, except he knew not her name...
Rasidar found it odd that the group appeared to be the same age. Had someone brought them here for some purpose? If so, what? Why had they all been brought here and not others?
"It may be worth our while to examine the door, if there is one," Rasidar said. "Perhaps there may be answers beyond it."

Loriana nodded, though she looked at what Stelrein had created from the bed, "Maybe it would be good to arm ourselves first. It may take some time, but I have this feeling that no one will disturb us here. Or if they do, we probably would not be able to put up much of a fight anyway, especially not armed. Can you two make more armor and weapons from the other beds?"
She knew it was best to have a weapon, even if she knew she wouldn't be able to use it very well. Something was definitely better than nothing.
(Elliot - how long would it take for Stelrein and Rasidar to make armor & weapons for everyone?)

SilvaIt'll take a few hours, but it's definitely doable. Considering the complications involved, I'll give Rasidar lvl 1 Armoursmith after that much helping and practising. No lvl in Weaponsmith yet, as making clubs is a lot easier and requires a lot less knowledge. EveryoneI'll answer character questions by character name and player questions by player name, just to make it clear exactly what I'm addressing

(Elliot - makes sense, clubs are a lot easier than armor and shields. Guess it'll be up to Rasidar and Stelrein, as well as a consensus from others as to whether we take the time.)

While Rasidar made the introductions, Cedric appreciated his companions. They all seemed to be around 20, though he was aware that this could be deceptive, as he himself looked younger than his age. They all looked physically healthy and their movements were controlled and swift.
The woman who awoke last and who introduced herself with such a commanding question, hadn't even taken the trouble to cover herself to the minimum. Not that he minded that, but it seemed peculiar to him for some reason he couldn't fathom.
"Though the circumstances are not what I would have hoped for," he addresses her, "I am pleased to meet you, Lady 'What you're doing'!" He twinkled with his right eye.

Loriana speaks quietly, more to Rasidar than anyone else, "There is a door on the eastern wall. But there are no windows."
Stelrein continued working with Rasidar, instructing him on making the makeshift armor and weapons. While making the first set of armor for himself, Stelrein thought he had heard a small noise to the side and glimpsed the face of a young man near a bed. Though after shaking his head, the young man was gone. Smiling to himself, Stelrein figured that they had another companion, though this one a bit shyer.
After exchanging pleasantries with Cedric and the unnamed young lady, Stelrein continued his work. While working on the next set of makeshift armor, Stelrein turned his back towards where he saw the young man's face and said quietly to Rasidar, "I don't think we're quite alone. I think I saw someone else, but he seemed no more than a child."

"We should not open the door until we are ready to do battle," Rasidar agreed. "I will gladly help prepare equipment for the group."
After listening to Loriana describe the door, he understood.
"Excellent," Rasidar said. "But I'm concerned. We know nothing of the outside terrain. If there is only one exit, it may be watched. Perhaps even guarded. Without a window, we won't know the terrain or any level of opposition. Yet there is some advantage in this. No one lurking outside may know what we are up to either."
Rasidar then turned to the rest of the group. Stelrein was clearly a skilled warrior, but he was uncertain about the others. They would have to work as a unit if they were to face whatever lurked outside.
"In the meantime, everyone should prepare themselves as best they can. This can be used to gather equipment, or even for the remembering of skills. But we should not open any door without full agreement from the group. Once we leave, we may not be able to return later."
Rasidar had thought he'd noticed something, but had not been sure what. He'd been too focused upon his new studies. He nodded slowly to Stelrein in understanding.
"Perhaps we should recruit him?" Rasidar whispered back. "Another ally wouldn't be unwelcome. And if he can move in stealth, he could be useful."

Cedric hadn't noticed anybody, so when he overheard Rasidar's whispering he looked more attentively. He failed to spot anyone though.
Loudly he said, "I am going to search the other beds for anything useful - at least the blankets from the empty beds should be of some use."
{Elliot - can I find a broom?}
