This is the player introduction, and is the same for all players:
***
You awaken in bed, your thoughts confused. For a moment, dizziness tries to claim you, and your thoughts swirl as crazily as the flickering globes in the ceiling that throw light and shadows alike around you.
Taking firm hold of yourself, you look around, and realise you are in a large area that could be some kind of dormitory or hospital, but like none you have ever seen.
You are laying on a straw matress, covered only by a single blanket, and in your underwear. All around you are other people, some of whom are moving, while others are still, and covered in an amber glow. Some of the glows are flickering, and the people beneath them stirring slightly, and you realise that you must have been under one of those fields!
The walls and floor of this immense room are made of stone, probably granite. The bed you are laying on is a simple wooden frame...
But these things - the aftershock of awakening - have hidden from you momentarily a terrible truth - you have no idea how or why you are here! Concentrating hard, you remember your name, but the details of your life seem washed out and almost unfamiliar - almost as if they happened to someone else, or happened so long ago that they are almost beyond recall.
Something dreadful has happened to you, and you know that you had better find out what and why...

Rasidar Thornleaf leaped to awareness with a sudden start.
Rasidar could not remember much, not really. But his instincts, which he somehow knew were honed by years of training, took hold. His right hand thrust outwards in a flash. Had he been carrying a sword, he might have looked fearsome. But Rasidar stopped in mid-thrust, suddenly realizing how much he looked the fool.
Rasidar Thornleaf... was that his name? Yes, it must have been. Sir Rasidar, newly ordained Knight of the Orb. But his past felt like a dream. Somehow distant and unrecognizable... except for the face of a young woman with raven-black curls and a dancer's frame. Callie. Pain mingled with concern as he recalled the name. She must have mattered to him once, but he knew not how.
Rasidar shook his head as his warrior's instincts took over. He knew he did not belong here. There was a wrongness about it all. The work of evil magic, perhaps? He could not discount the possibility. If there was evil magic in this place, he knew it was his duty to confront it. His honor demanded no less.
First, Rasidar decided, he would see to the others in this place. See if anyone was injured, and if so, bring them aid. Once that was done, he would not rest until he discovered the truth. No matter who he must slay, or even if it meant joining the Great Mana in death...

Stelrein sat up, rubbing his head. Didn't quite remember what he had been doing before now. Possibly he was suffering from a hangover, from the night before.
A sudden movement to his side caught his eye. By the young man's motions, Stelrein could tell that he was a swordsman and a rather skilled one at that.
Quickly Stelrein took in the rest of his environs. He immediately felt that the world was wrong. He sensed that something malicious was behind this place.
Subconsciously, his hand reached to his side... but for what? A sword?
Finally noticing the state of his undress, he examines the bedding to see how it can be used to clothe himself. He has a feeling that he can do something with it, but for now, he simply wraps it around his waist.
Noticing that the young swordsman is now moving about, Stelrein gets up and goes toward him.
"Greetings," Stelrein says a few paces away, "My name is Stelrein. And yourself?" Stelrein makes sure to keep plenty of distance between himself and the young man, unsure of the man's origin, much less his intent.

Loriana woke up quickly, sat up way too fast and, her head spinning, fell back to bed. She laid there for a moment, disoriented. Trying to figure out what happened, where she was... who she was...
She sat up more cautiously and glanced around. Unnerved at being in such a large room with other half-naked people, she pulled the blanket around her and tied it into a make-shift dress.
She noticed two men standing just a little ways away. Though she still didn't understand what was happening, she knew she wouldn't find her answer staying where she was.
She stood and walked closer, trying to hear what they were saying. She hoped that they were trust-worthy, considering the state of their clothing and hers...

Rasidar nodded to the gentleman in greeting and offered a smile. This Stelrein appeared to have the bearing of a warrior. This pleased him. If Stelrein was a true warrior, then perhaps he could be trusted.
Rasidar decided to take the risk of trust. Allies would be needed if they were to find answers.
"I am Rasidar, good sir," he began. "Hail and well met."
Rasidar began slowly, trying to remember as he spoke. There was so much that felt etherial and dreamlike. Only the memory of Callie remained strong in his mind, but he couldn't explain why this was, or what she was to him. Some deep instinct told him not to speak of her. He continued.
"I remember... I was ordained a holy Knight of the Orb. I remember not how I got here, nor our purpose in being here. However, my own concerns are unimportant. First, I must know if everyone within this place is safe and in good health."

Stelrein thinks to himself - Holy Knight of an Orb? This did not sound familiar. Of course a Knight indicated a proficiency with arms. The manerisms of this Rasidar seems geniunely congenial, and therefore trustworthy.
Responding to Rasidar's last comment, Stelrein nodded and began to go towards the nearest bed, which was covered with the amber light.

Still hesitant, Loriana watches Stelrein go towards the amber covered bed.
She knew she should feel safe, expecially since one of the men was a knight. She approached Rasidar.
"Hello Sir," Loriana smiles lightly, "Um... do you have any idea of what's going on here?" she glanced at the man, then looked away, blushing. Softly, she spoke, "Or where our clothes went..."

She stood and walked closer, trying to hear what they were saying. She hoped that they were trust-worthy, considering the state of their clothing and hers... Rasidar noticed the young woman approach them. Even with the improvised covering around her and the bizarre situation, he still felt ashamed to see her in a state of undress. He felt his face go crimson for a moment. He was unsure what to do. It was unseemly to stare at her, yet it was dishonorable for a knight to turn his back to a lady. Rasidar decided that he would avert his gaze only slightly, focusing only at her eyes for now. "Forgive me, good lady, for any lack of propriety on my part," Rasidar said. "I hope you'll not think my conduct ungentlemanly, but ours is a difficult circumstance. If you desire modesty, I shall gladly oblige." "I am Sir Rasidar, Knight of the Orb," he said, offering the lady a sweeping bow. "Upon my word, I shall allow no harm to come to a lady while I draw breath. I remain at your service, if you desire it." That seemed the proper course. He would not protect a lady that did not desire protection. That would be rude, and worse, disrespectful to the lady. Rasidar hoped that these unfamiliar people could be trusted. But it could not be helped. They faced the same problem, and perhaps the same peril...

Rasidar allowed Stelrein to examine the bed without comment. Perhaps he was looking for answers as well. "Hello Sir," Loriana smiles lightly, "Um... do you have any idea of what's going on here?" she glanced at the man, then looked away, blushing. Softly, she spoke, "Or where our clothes went..." So they were in the same predicament. Rasidar understood at once. Something must be behind this, but he could not know what. "Nay, I regret I know not," Rasidar said. "When I awoke, we were as you see now. Finding our effects must be a priority." Especially his sword, but that need not be said. He did not like the idea of being weaponless. He felt nearly as naked as he actually was without a blade...

Stelrein spoke, "Rasidar, from the looks of these people, I'd say they're alseep and in no danger. At least the ones under the amber light." He turns to face Rasidar and the young lady, he noticed Rasidar's discomfort and the lady's blush, "I do believe it would help everyone if you covered yourself Rasidar."
Nodding to the lady, "M'lady, my name is Stelrein. And what might your name be?"
Loriana tries to form a smile, "My name is Loriana. I'm sorry if I made anyone uncomfortable... I'm just not used to... well, this is a very strange place and... Does anyone have any ideas of how to get out of here?" She glanced around, looking for a door or window...

Stelrein spoke, "As comfortable as it is not wearing much, I suggest we make some make-shift protection and arms," with that, Stelrein goes to his bed and starts dismantling it for parts.
(Elliot - I'm attempting to make a club, padded armor and shield._

Rasidar nodded at Stelrein's request. He had not thought of his own covering. The needs of others took priority over his own. But if he made others feel uncomfortable, then it was only sensible to comply.
"Perhaps that is the wiser course," Rasidar agreed, and covered himself with a bedsheet. "It seems we share a common problem. I suggest we find as many people who are awake as we can and convince them to join us. Perhaps some of them may have skills that could be of use. We could also use the numbers. I fear we may not be alone."
"In the meantime, it may be best to make as much as we can out of the environment."
Rasidar looked at the wooden bedframe. He would try to remove it, see if it would make a makeshift shield...
Also, if there is a bedpost long enough, Rasidar will try to see if he can get a long wooden pole. (Something to make a polearm out of, ideally.)

Stelrein
Weak Club - Atts 2 Dam 2 Flimsy Shield - +1 AR Padded Armour (Light Armour) - +2 AR
All possible, leaving not a lot of bed. Will take time.
Loriana
Sees no windows, and no door close by, but it's a large room and the three are fairly close to the centre, she thinks. The crazy lighting makes it hard to tell if there might be doors or windows further away.

Rasidar
Doesn't think he'll have much luck turning the base of the bed into a shield. He knows how to use a shield, but has little experience of creating one - especially from such shoddy material.

Realizing that he is wasting time with the bedframe, Rasidar moves on... Firstly, he looks for something to use as a pole or a club. The longer the better. He will take the best available candidate that Stelrein is not using. Secondly, he will examine the lighting. He will also try to judge the height of the room as he does this...

Stelrein continues on the task at hand, taking as much time as needed.
While working, he glances up at Rasidar trying to take the bed apart and says, "Perhaps I cans how you how to create makeshift equipment. If you come over here, you can watch what I'm doing and then try it using your bed. If you can learn quickly enough, then you can help others as we find them."
(Elliot - attempting to tutor Rasidar in armorsmithing and weaponsmithing.)

"Um, I'm gonna go around the room to see if there are any doors or windows. And maybe I'll find more people who are awake," Loriana sees that the men are busy and there is nothing she can do to help them. So she goes to one wall and follows it, planning on making a circuit of the room.
(Elliot - I will wait to post more until more characters join the game so I can meet them.)

Rasidar offers Stelrein a grateful smile. He reminds himself to repay Stelrein for this boon. Assuming they survived, but he would do no good to say it aloud. He was doing this to give others a fighting chance to survive.
"You have my thanks, sir," Rasidar says. "Your plan is sensible, and I will do my part."
He listens and watches Stelrein carefully, hoping to learn as much as he can get...

RasidarThe room is about 10' high, maybe a little over. The lights appear to be globes of crude glass set into the ceiling, and lit somehow from within. They look pretty solid, but the light seems to flicker, die down, flare up, die down - all random. This is either somehing gone wrong, or the lights were created by a lunatic... StelreinCan certainly begin teaching Rasidar how to create weapons & armour, assuming Rasidar is willing to learn. It will keep them both busy for a while. Rasidar won't gain lvl 1 abilities yet, but the process is begun. LorianaGood idea, Silva It's a big room, and it'll take a while to find the door... Enough for the other players to join in, I'd say *** This should give our newbies an excellent example of how the game will be/is played too. Well done folks - good start
