Rasidar smiles at Ash and offers her a playful bow. She struck him as a pleasant person. He somehow knew that he rarely had time to relax. His discipline had not allowed it. But this once, he saw no harm in it.
When she mentioned the bow, a keen awareness came over Rasidar. He thought of the bow, of its make and construction. Someone had shown him how to make a bow, once, though he remembered not who.
"Nay, all our weapons are lost," Rasidar told her. "I will gladly do my best to find them. But now I recall that I know something of bowcraft. With this wood, a good string, and some sort of knife, maybe I can craft a bow for your use."
This seemed sensible. Ash had the movements of a skilled archer. Much more than he was. The ability to attack at range would prove useful, especially if it helped protect the group...

"`Twould be a good idea," Rasidar agreed. "If anyone amongst us knows the art of finding and disarming traps, this skill would be invaluable. I know not of such things, but I would be glad to provide protection if needed."

Ash looks around at the guy called Cedric and asks "Are you really as good with a staff as you claim to be? If you are, can you teach me a few tricks? Bashing stuff with one of those things always looked like fun "Well young lady, I'll gladly teach you," answered Cedric, "The first thing to learn is that you will not be 'bashing stuff' for fun - but life opponents, who move and fight back - you'll have to be swifter and know their weak spots to survive."

Ash giggles, looks at Rasidar and says with a grin "I wouldn't have asked if I didn't know about traps, Mr. Knight."
Then she gets a serious look and says "Where did that come from, but I know it is true. I do know about traps and how to disarm them. I know I do."
"Then if you are with me, let's go Mr. Knight. You might actually be of help in some way." she says with a grin and motions for him to come with her.
*********
"I'm in," said Ash with a grin, "but I still think it will be fun. Just give me and Mr. Knight here a chance to check out the door Loriana found and then I'll find out if you really know your stuff."

Rasidar betrays a slightly sheepish look and returns the grin. He'd had no way of knowing. Still, at least they had a chance.
"`Tis my honor to serve," says Rasidar. "Whatever is needed, I shall do. Lead on, Ash."
Once he's properly equipped, Rasidar follows Ash to the door Loriana had found. Once there, he prepares himself for any surprises. Then he waits for Ash to continue...

Ash is full of questions and hardly gives Rasidar a chance to answer, if he can, as they make their way back to the door Lorianna had found.
As they approach the door, Ash looks at Rasidar and says "You be careful and don't get to close and trip something, Mr. Knight. "I didn't bring you along to get me killed. Besides I need a bow and if you can make me one, I sure don't want you getting hurt," she adds with a smile.
Making sure Mr. Knight is back out of the way, Ash begins to closely examine the area around the door and the door itself.
*is this the point I ask whether we find anything or am I suppose to do something else?*

With this wood, a good string, and some sort of knife, maybe I can craft a bow for your use." Loriana speaks up, "I do hope we find you some tools, because I am better with a bow than any other weapon." She turns to Cedric, "Though I am very willing to learn as much as I can about weilding a club since that is what we have for the moment." She goes towards Cedric, then stops and turns towards Stelrein, "I see that you have a lot of small wood fragments, do you think you can make some darts with whatever is left over?"

After Rasidar and Ash left, Stelrein turns to Cedric, "If you wouldn't mind, I suggest you teach Ash and Yairn here with the clubs. That is, if Yairn is amenable to it," turning to Loriana, "My lady, I believe I can make something for you, but I require your assistance. I need you to find a way to break one of thos lights to see what material can be salvaged from it. Do you think you can do that?" Stelrein's features soften, not seeming as stern as he was when he woke up.
Loriana frowns lightly, "I, uh, will try, but I'm not very strong..." she picks up the long piece and looks towards the ceiling. Using her agility and tumbling techniques, she tries to poke at the light to knock it off without breaking it.
(E - my goal is to keep the globe as whole as possible. To bring it down without breaking it. Definitely try to avoid shattering it.)

ShanYes. This would be the right point As you are new, I'll take it as read that you are doing that, and not be horrid to you, as I would to more experienced players ;D AshThe door is not trapped as far as you can determine, and not locked. It shows little sign that it is even used. LorianaYou will have to get closer to the globes, somehow. The ceiling is around 10 feet up, and you can't really get at them very well from floor level.

"Hey, Mr. Knight. come closer and have a look. And you don't have to worry it is not trapped," says Ash turning to look at Rasidar after examining the door and area around it carefully. "This thing looks like it has hardly been used. I think we should go tell the others what we've found out and see what they think, don't you?" she asks.
********
As they head back to the others, they pass one of the beds where someone is still asleep and the glowy stuff is still covering them.
Ash, stops and turns to Rasidar and says mischieviously "Let's touch it and see what happens." She sticks her hand out to touch it, stops, and then says "You wanna go first? I'll let you, if you do?"

"Aye, `tis best that we report back to the others," Rasidar says. "There is much that I find amiss by this news. Not the least, why are we not locked or restrained, if this is a prison?"
Rasidar follows Ash towards the bed and examines the glow around it.
"I shall accept the task," Rasidar says. "`Twould not be proper to allow you to place yourself at risk. Perhaps you should stand back. I cannot vouch for your safety should this prove dangerous."
(E - After giving Ash a chance to stand back, Rasidar will test the field by carefully touching the field with his club.)

Rasidar
The surface of the amber field is solid and seems almost frictionless. Your club does not appear to be harmed by contact with it.

Loriana finds it futile to jump from ground level. She stops and contemplates how she can get higher. She glances at one of the beds, but finds it is too low. It might be possible to stacks beds except that many of the unused beds are now in pieces.
A moment from her childhood comes back to her suddenly.... of sitting on her father's shoulders swinging a stick at an apple hanging from a high branch... Maybe she and Stelrein... the thought brings a blush to her face, but she steels herself and turns to Stelrein, "I cannot reach it from here and I am afraid to throw the piece of wood. But I have an idea, though it will be awkward..." she trails off for a moment, but finds her resolve again, "If I can sit on your shoulders, I might be able to reach it with this long stick."
Stelrein contemplates her suggestion, "If you sit on my shoulders, you should be able to reach it with your hands. Of course, considering that fire is usually hot, and usually a light source, I can only assume that that light may be hot. Therefore if we wrap some blankets around your hands, you may be able to test the light even further. Maybe bring it down in one piece."
Stelrein kneels and Loriana sits on his shoulders. He stands slowly, keeping his balance. Before touching the light, Loriana exmines it closely, looking for how it is mounted.
(E - does this course of action succeed in bringing me close enough to the light to look at it. Stelrein is 6 feet tall and Loriana is 5 feet tall.)

Loriana
Up close, the sphere flickers in a strange, erratic fashion, but you get no feeling of heat from it. The quality of the glass appears to be incredibly high, with no imperfections at all that you can see.
You are now close enough to conduct further experiments.

Loriana gingerly touches the light and then feels around the globe to find how it is attached.

Rasidar turns to Ash, motioning that it's safe for her to examine the field.
"This light appears to be some manner of force field," Rasidar says to Ash. "`Tis solid, yet my club slides across it with no resistance. Perhaps `tis meant to protect those sleeping within?"
"We should return to the others," he suggests. "They should know what we have now discovered. I would also like to make your bow... but first I must find the proper string."
Unless Ash has anything else in mind, Rasidar escorts her back to the group...

Loriana
The globe is actually cool to the touch - or as far as you can tell through the layers of cloth, at least. It seems to have been jammed into a hole in the rock, and is presumably wedged in place by the rock itself, as there seems to be nothing else holding it there.

The sphere is very smooth, and you cannot get a good enough grip through the blanket.

Loriana takes the blankets off her hands and tests the heat of the globe before touching. If it is not hot, she will attempt to pull it free.
