Loriana
The globe is cool to your touch, and a strange tingling sensation runs through your fingers, almost like a very tiny static charge. You feel the magic within you stir, and the globe drops easily into your hand, offering no resistance at all.
It now sheds a steady light that will illuminate a 10' radius area around you as if by strong moonlight.
You have suffered a -5 Mana drain as the Light Sphere recharged itself.

Loriana's head spins a bit as she recalls fleeting images of herself casting spells. As she takes the globes down, she feels a little drained, but otherwise fine.
"Here," she hands the globe down to Stelrein, "It's perfectly fine and it's still radiating light. Maybe we should get some more down. Some to use as light sources, some to actually break apart."
Stelrein begins to nod, but remembers the situation, "That sounds like a good idea, but first, did it harm you in any way? It seems to have stopped flickering."
Loriana analyzes how she feels drained, "I think... I think I recharged the globe... it drained some of my magic to stabilize the light. I don't mind touching more of the globes, especially since I don't remember any spells right now. This is a good of use of my magic."
Stelrein considers, "Let's take two more globes, one for light and one to break. We don't want to drain you too much, just in case you remember something. We can always get more."
Loriana and Stelrein go about taking down 2 more globes.

Loriana & Stelrein
Getting the globes is easy enough.
-10 Mana for Loriana, obviously.

Stelrein helps Loriana down. They go back to the work area with the globes.
Stelrein says, "While I originally intended to break one of these apart, I am cautious to do so now. Let us wait until Rasidar and Ash rejoins us so that we can discuss the matter."
Loriana nods in agreement. She sits down and leans against the wall, a little tired and shaken from the experience, as well as nerve-wracked from being half-naked on a man's shoulders.

Rasidar turns to Ash, motioning that it's safe for her to examine the field. "This light appears to be some manner of force field," Rasidar says to Ash. "`Tis solid, yet my club slides across it with no resistance. Perhaps `tis meant to protect those sleeping within?" "We should return to the others," he suggests. "They should know what we have now discovered. I would also like to make your bow... but first I must find the proper string." Unless Ash has anything else in mind, Rasidar escorts her back to the group... As Rasidar turns to leave, Ash says "Wait, I didn't get my turn." And she reaches out her hand and touches the glowy stuff. Running her hand slowly over it she asks "Was this stuff over us too? How is it turned on and off? Wonder what controls it?" She then looks at Rasidar and says with a smile "OK, ok, I know I ask to many questions. Come on. Let's go tell the others what we found out. If you have any ideas you can tell me on the way." ********* As they near the others, Ash is bubbling with excitement and calls "Guess what we found out? That door back there is not trapped and it is not locked, but there is something strange about it. It doesn't looked like it has been used in ages if ever." She then adds even more excitedly "Wanna know what else we did? We touched that glowy stuff. Didn't we, Mr. Knight?" Before Rasidar can answer she asks "When do I get the bow you said you would make for me? Do you have the stuff to make it with or do you still need to find some stuff?"

Ash
The amber field feels a bit like glass to the touch, but with none of the coolness of glass. Your fingers slide if you exert even a slight pressure. The person under the field does not even stir, nor react in any way.

Rasidar couldn't help but smile at Ash as she cheerfully touched the field. She seemed so carefree. He could remember only one time in his life he had felt so... but he couldn't make out the details.
"Aye," Rasidar said. "`Tis some kind of force field. Anything that comes in contact with the field slides across it. Perhaps `tis meant to protect those still slumbering."
"I am left with many questions about the purpose of this place. Why leave a force field upon the sleepers, yet fail to guard the door? Something feels amiss to me."
"I cannot craft the bow yet, alas," Rasidar said. "I yet need a knife to craft the bow stave, and a suitable material for bowstring."

Stelrein points to the globes, "Loriana and I were able to take a few down," he looks over at Loriana and sees her flush face and notices that she avoids looking him in the eyes. He doesn't dwell on it though and instead continues, "I'm uncertain about breaking one of these open since they appear to be magically charged. I had originally intended to break it into pieces to use the glass shards for the creation of weapons. What do you think Rasidar and Ash?"

Looking rather disappointed at first but then getting a determined look on her face, Ash ask "What do you need? I will find it."
***********
Ash looks at the globe in Stelrien's hands and says, "Break one if it will break. Let's see what happens. There are plenty of others in the room we can gather. Maybe it will help Mr. Knight here make me a bow."
She then looks at Loriana and asks "You're an archer too right and you want a bow? You want him to break it too, don't you?"

Rasidar turns to Stelrein and Loriana with interest.
"I approve of the merits of your plan, but we must tread carefully," he said. "`Tis possible the magic within the globe may be dangerously volatile. Some magic items are known to explode upon a breaking. Not that this is likely, but `tis a risk worth considering. Also, should we break a globe, we lose a light source."
"Any suitable cutting blade may do for the stave," Rasidar said. "As for the string, gut would be preferable, but `tis not available. Hair may suffice, but `twould need to be long. Perhaps no less than four feet in length for a short bow."

"Long, huh," says Ash. "I've got long hair, but not that long. That means we've got to find something else."
She then looks at Lorianna and asks "Are you up to some exploring? I want a bow and it kinda sound like you'd like one too, so how about let's see if we can find some string, twine, or something for Mr. Knight to use. I'm sure not gonna let him have gut from me. You can if you want, but no way is he taking mine."

Stelrein considers, "Maybe we should keep these three as light sources. Then try to break one while it's still up in the ceiling and uncharged. The flickering seems to be because of a lack of power, so if any of it discharges when broken, it shouldn't be as harmful."

Stelrein looks a little confused at Ash's remark, then understanding cracks a small smile.
Loriana smiles weakly, "Sure, let's go search around for some twine or something. My hair isn't long enough either." She gets up, more relaxed than she was a moment ago, and walks towards Ash.

"`Tis worth pursuing," Rasidar said to Stelrein. "Though I find it most interesting that the globes draw magic from us by contact. Perhaps that was our purpose here? Whichever, I am willing to attempt a breakage."

Stelrein hands Rasidar a long piece of wood, "Try to break it with this. Everyone else should stand clear."
Loriana nods, "Ash and I will start searching the room for anything useful." Loriana and Ash head off around the room.
(E - do we find anything?)

Once everyone else is at a safe distance, Rasidar attempts to break an uncharged globe with the long piece of wood that Stelrein handed to him... (Note: He will shield his eyes as he does so, just in case. )

"You're not going to break one then?" asks Ash disappointedly. "I was hoping to see what would happen. Oh, well, you're probably right."
She then looks at Lorianna and says "Let's go. Any particuliar area you want to start out with? We've got to find something. I gotta have a bow."
As they leave, she looks back at Stelrien and calls, "You better not break that thing while I'm gone. I wanna see what happens if you decide to break it."
*********
Seeing Rasidar with the wood in his hands, Ash calls to Loriana "Hold it I'm not leaving until I see what happens."

Stelrein looks down at one of the globes and thinks - perhaps if nothing else, it may make a blinding flash, which would make a good distraction.

...voices, and a weird unnatural swaying light through her eyelids are the first things Mao notices. After remaining immobile, alert, long enough to be sure it is real, she proceeds to carefully analyze her position, while a growing unease gets her. Knowing her position and what is around is the first thing to do, she knew that... but that was also the problem, as she knew nothing of herself - let alone where she was, what she was doing there or what was going on...
Suddenly, the light seems to become slightly brighter; though not more natural. With precautions, she raises half in the stray bed she lies in to have a better view of what's going on while remaining discreet. She finds herself to be into a very large room, full of beds exactly like hers, though some are covered by a strange amber glow. Some others are torn apart, visibly recycled by the people whose voices awoke her.
These people all seem to be about the same age, and the scene they make seems almost surreal; all being either in underwear (like her, she notices), they seem busy, some handling bed pieces or globes similar to those on the floor but shedding a stronger light, and getting well along together. But the care and slight reticence they seem to have toward each other shows that they are likely to be as lost as she is herself.
As the thoughts and contradictory feeling battle inside her, Mao notices two women walking a little apart of the group, but remaining focused on what happens there. She sits closer in her bed to be up to see better what might be going on out there...
