Zelda: OoT Zelda: A Link to the past Freedom Force (classic) Pokemon Saphire (darn it!)

Stronghold 2 Shadows of Amn Stronghold is fiendishly difficult, so I only play it when I'm awake

Baldur's Gate 2 with a ton of add-on mods for added replay value. Primarily Ascension, Redemption and the Saerileth and Valen NPCs. Probably will get back to Torment again fairly soon, though.

I agree Max. We should form a support group or something. Maybe something like Pokeholics anonymous or something.

I'm trying to find Civilization II. Yes, it's quite old, but I'm told it's extremely enjoyable. However, I have no idea where it is.

Top Shop for PS1 is a very addicting game, good time waster. It's a lot like Monopoly, but you go around a mall, buying shops and trying to get towards the asset goal. And it was cheap. $5 used.
Otherwise, I play... oh, wait... I can't tell you that because it's on of the questions on my quiz. Let's just say that I play one of the Suikoden games. ;D
As for Pokemon, my fiance is really addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh: Dawn of Destiny. So I think I understand about how addicting games can be, even if you don't necesarily like what it's based on. He doesn't watch or read any Yu-Gi-Oh. He keeps asking me about characters, but most of them are from manga portions I haven't read yet.

Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal, Suikoden I, and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance at the moment (well, when I'm in the mood for just flat out kicking butt.)
I will start playing Planescape: Torment after I finish Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal.
I'm also considering buying Neverwinter Nights Platinum Collection, since it's not too expensive at Wal-Mart. Is it recommended?

Not by me. I consider the original Neverwinter Nights game to be deeply inferior to every Bioware/Black Isle RPG that ever proceeded it - even Icewind Dale. Its that bad...

Neverwinter Nights isn't a huge favorite of mine either. It's got some points in its favor. I like that the game is customizable, and the visuals were nicely done. The world was pretty well realized visually. If everything else had built on previous Bioware efforts, I'd have liked it a lot. But there's a lot about NWN I'm not fond of. No story that I found gripping and zero characterization to speak of turned this into a hack-and-slash game. At least BG had an actual plot. I'd like to see some actual roleplaying in an RPG, but in NWN it's pretty much minimal. I rather like adventuring parties, since they give you more character dynamics and more gameplay options, especially in a D&D system. But NWN gives you only one PC and an NPC hireling you can't directly control. That limits options a lot more than I'd personally prefer. So they built on the technical level, but took away much of what I liked about previous games. On balance, I'd much rather play Torment or BG2 again.

I think the short answer with NWN is - get Diablo 2 instead. Similar game, but much better

Yeah I third Diablo 2. Though there are rumblings that Diablo 3 is going to be announced soon. But D2 is still worth it. I love my Barbarian.

The only thing that sucks is my Barbarian dies very easily in the second difficulty. But darn it I refuse to give up my Gothic armor that gives close to 100 life which I made by socketing it.

er, I had a blast playing a Monk in Neverwinter... I liked it quite a lot, though you're right about the sidekick. Though that got better in the sequels from what my fiance told me. But then I haven't gotten into Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, even though I have both. So my opinion may change when I get around to those.

Fire Golems are cool but nothing beats a Barbarian with darn near maxed out Mace Mastery.

Never even considered Diablo 2. What is it about? And thanks guys, I guess I'll stay away from NWN for the time being. Though I'm probably good for it right now, I still don't want to waste money on something I probably wouldn't like. I know you guys don't like Icewind Dale, so for you guys to say it's even worse than that - ok. ( Though I liked Icewind Dale, but whatever. )

Diablo 2 is basically a game where you run around killing things with your character, There is no attempt or need at characterisation, and combat is fast and furious.
That being said, it is absolutely the best game of its type on the market. By a LONG way.
